Socialist For Congress
Time and Time again we’ve elected Democrats and Republicans, and all we’ve gotten in return is corruption, a lower standard of living, and a dysfunctional government that proves it can not meet the needs of its residents. My name is Aaron Reveles. I’m a public school teacher, a working class organizer, and a proud socialist running for California’s 34th Congressional District 14.
To break the capitalist duopoly, we must construct a new socialist electoral coalition. That’s why I am running with a coalition of organizations and other candidates under the Movement for a New Democracy. We aim to unite the efforts of existing socialist organizations and parties, social movement organizations, and working-class organizations that seek political independence from the capitalist parties.
Socialism in the United States
In the wealthiest nation in the world, there is no justification for millions facing skyrocketing costs of housing, healthcare, and groceries. The Democratic and Republican parties have, for far too long, waged a daily struggle against working-class families in the United States.
We must replace our current system that primarily benefits the rich, who own the housing we live in, the places we work, and the stores we shop at. It’s time to build a system run by and for the people who create the wealth in our society—the working class—a socialist system.
Under socialism, production is planned to meet human needs. We can envision socialism as prioritizing people over profit, ensuring fundamental guarantees such as healthcare, education, decent housing, food, and jobs.
Now is the time to advocate for socialism.
